Mormons know who they are. Whether you attend meetings or where, and that some of you do not call

yourselves 'Mormon',  you still are.  And how can this be? It is because Mormons are a people!

A Style Guide for Visitors to Our Site

by  MWOS and the Benevolent Fund For Mormon Widows And Orphans

All our written and verbal references are consistenly made to "Mormon", "Mormons" and "Mormonism" and we encourage you to remember a very important thing. Our efforts are not about existing disagreements over religion and dogma. Unless we state the name of a specific congregation, denomination, or "church", you should understand that our inclusiveness is about agreement Mormons share. Mormons are a people!

General reference to 'The Mormon Church'  means the Church or Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or LDS.

Many know that the LDS church and most of its members feel the term Mormon should relate solely to them.  On the other hand, Community of Christ members are Mormons and desire not to be called that.  The Society has reached agreement with the Benevolent Fund that our use of the term Mormon should not be offending in any way to anyone sharing Mormon beliefs.   The Charter preamble  stands on its own and should be taken at face value. What you believe and what you do are important to us but we do not make judgements about where you worship.

Because LDS teachings are adopted in other  churches we ask you to accept our attitude regarding " Who is a 'Mormon' " to be an inclusive one.  We try not to exclude any Mormon. If we have somehow failed, let us know it.

There are always current religion-centered issues of great concern during every epoch.  You should consult at your preferred church regarding them.

We try not to exclude any Mormon. If we have somehow failed, let us know it.

Disclaimers: The Society is not affiliated in any way with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Benevolent Fund is not affiliated in any way with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
